Our neighbor dyed their dogs fur....HOT PINK!?

I don't know, maybe I just think the dogs fur should be it's natural color. I jokingly said something about it to her, she said if humans can dye their hair so can dogs. But isn't that harmful to their skin? dono, what do you think?

Our neighbor dyed their dogs fur....HOT PINK!?

I got married at the LA County Courthouse quite a few years back. The female judge who married us had white creamy skin and very pale blonde hair. She had on a hot pink Jackie Kennedy style suit and hat. Her blush and lipstick matched the hat and suit. On a matching pillow on a nearby desk was her poodle who's coat exactly matched the judges hair. Her nails and the judges nails were the same color. Doggy had a ribbon on her head, a rhinestone collar, and a jacket that matched the judge's. Our whole party laughed and giggled through the whole short, but hilariously sweet, ceremony.

Generally, however, I wouldn't think dying would be a good thing.

Talk about vain!!! Though I think that dyes are natural pigment...still A hot pink dog? Eeeeew!

Poor thing! All the other dogs are gonna make fun of him now!

I don't think it messes with their skin but, what do I know? But I still think that dying the hair dog's hair is a cool way of personalizing your dog.

That's crazy..and yes it can be harmful...b/c for Easter people dye Chicks and Rabbits different colors and they only live like a day or 2 after that...

i think it can actually be harmful and very uncomfortable for the dog. It can be very itchy and irritating to their sensitive skin. Plus the animal rights group PETA got onto Kelly Osbourne really bad when she dyed her dog pink they say that not only is it bad for their coat and skin ,but it is also inhumane and cruel. I agree.

Hot pink dye only comes in temporary to semi-permanent. Meaning it coats the hair, but hardly penetrates the hair shaft. There are not very harsh chemicals in it at all, and I would honestly say that it would not cause any harm to the dog. If they bleach or use permanent dye on the dog, that may be both painful and somewhat harmful.

To each his own. I wouldn't call that cruelty by any means. It's no worse than a person who paints their dogs toenails or makes them wear sweaters.

I think it's not a good thing to do. The chemicals and dyes simply are not healthy and could easily do some damage to it's skin. I think it's another form of animal abuse and should not be allowed. Call your local shelter and see what they say. I've always said, there are some people that just don't deserve to have a pet. APparently, you live next door to one.

If you find any screws laying around on the ground they came from your neighbors head, her screws are so loose they are now falling out and she is missing a few . I would think that the dye can make the dog very sick, the chemicals a lone are probably not good for the poor thing.

Ignorance is a bliss, isn't it. Maybe you should really consider calling the humane society, not to be malicious but for the safety of the poor dog. Call a psychiatrist after that. GEEZ! Just when I think I have heard it all!! LOL!

Look at the positive side.

I lost my dog three months ago. Very sad indeed. Had she been pink I bet someone would have seen her.

Such a unique dog is sure to be spotted somewhere. That's one plus!

I think it is harmful to the dogs' social life. How can they mate now huh????What dog in the right mind would wanna mate with a HOT PINK dog?!%26gt;:-(

it does not harm ther skin. it is just like shampoo

The dog can not speak for him self.So someone has to dye a dogs coat, and the dog does not know what it means. That is crazy that your neighbor says if we can so can they.

TELL HIM OR HER THAT THEY NEED TO LOOK IN TO SOME MAJER HELP!

that's not good for the dog's skin.

actually they've recently found out it's really bad for humans to dye their hair too

My friend would dye her dog's fur, but she used food coloring or kool-aid. She used a blow dryer to set it and it stayed for about a month.

I wouldn't dye my dogs fur, but my opinion is if the dog's owner is so involved in the dog's life that she wants to dye the dogs fur, then she is probably a very good dog owner! The only problem is that people hair dye can be very harsh on a dogs delicate skin, so it's best to use the dye that washes out and doesn't have harsh chemicals, bleach, or peroxide in it.

Well it depends what dyed they use (hopefully it's a natural dyed). Well it show that not only ur neighbour loves hot pink but also loves a HOT-DOG!
